Insanity workout review - 2009/11/09

It’s the middle of November, not quite a full month after graduating from Logistics Officer Course, and I’ve started Insanity for the first time. Just today, I received confirmation that I’ll be attending Green Belt Instructor Course in January at SOI West (School of Infantry), Camp Pendleton, CA.

In addition to training to the standards of the Marine Corps Green Belt, part of the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP), I’ll be put through myriad physical fitness tests to include the O-Course.

For those of you who haven’t yet had the pleasure of navigating the Obstacle Course, watch this video. Notice the scaling walls, balance log, high bar, jumping high logs, parallel bars and climbing rope climb to finish it off. Every obstacle in the course tests your agility and core strength. As you improve in both areas, the speed with which you pass through the course will improve as well. Insanity is the perfect program for dominating the O-Course.

Tomorrow, I’ll start the review process of one Insanity workout per day as the workout relates to Marine Corps fitness.
